1st North American Gracie Humaita Tournament

General Guidelines
· Competition will take place at Gracie Temecula-South, 32827 Temecula Parkway
Temecula, CA 92592
· Registration is flat $50 to compete in all qualified (age/weight/belt) divisions
· Registration ends at 7:30 PM Pacific Standard Time on Thursday, November 10, 2011
· Weigh-ins the day of competition; Kids: 7:00 to 8:00; Adults: 11:00am to 12:00pm
· Kids’ competition starts at 8:30 AM until roughly 11:30am. Self Defense will begin at 12:00pm. Adults’ jiu-jitsu divisions will begin at 12:30pm. Schedule subject to change based on number of competitors in each division. Full and final schedule will be posted atwww.thegraciesandiego.com by November 11, 2011.
· All competitors will have the chance to fight a minimum of two matches.
· Only blue and white gis (same color top and bottom) are allowed.
· Points and scoring will be run according to IBJJF rules and regulations.
o The Self Defense competition will be scored by a panel of judges. See below for details.
· Instructors will receive a list of 25self defense moves covered under the Gracie Self Defense system that will serve as the basis for this competition
· For the competition, a judge will call out 12 moves at random from the aforementioned list for competitors to perform with a partner
· Competitors will wear one of these options ONLY:
1. Gi pants and academy T-shirt OR
2. Full gi
· Two Divisions:
1. White belts
2. Graduated belts
· A panel of judges will determine moves executed with the best level of detail, accuracy, and effectiveness.
1. The Self Defense competition will be scored by a panel of judges on a scale of 1 – 10 and the tally taken for each competitor to determine a winner. In the result of a tie, there will be one tie-breaker round with an additional 5 moves by each competitor performed for judging
**Information for Brown and Black Belts**
Brown and black belts must submit their name, weight, stripes, and instructor/academy if they are interested in competing so that they may be set up in individual superfights or in several men or women divisions depending on amount of interest.
